Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients

If using a fresh aloe vera leaf, trim off the base and slice the leaf open to release the yellow liquid (aloin), which can be irritating to the skin. Place the cut leaf standing upright or cut-side down for about 15 minutes to allow the aloin to drain, then rinse it thoroughly.

Next, lay the leaf flat on a cutting board and carefully slice off the outer green skin using a sharp knife. Gently scrape the clear gel from the inside into a bowl.

Once you have the aloe gel, add it to a blender along with one cup of water and blend until smooth.

Step 2: Fill the Contour Cube

Take your Contour Cube, making sure both parts are securely fitted together. Carefully pour the blended aloe mixture into the cube through the heart-shaped hole, filling it just below the top to allow room for freezing.

Note: If a little overflows, that’s okay. Simply hold the cube with your fingers at the top and bottom and gently tip out a small amount of liquid through the heart-shaped hole to create space for the recipe to expand as it freezes.

Bonus:

If you’re adding our Chilled Aloe Niacinamide Serum for extra calming and hydration, pour 5–15ml into the Contour Cube first, then top up with the aloe mixture.

Short on time? You can also use the serum on its own, simply add the Aloe Serum and fill the rest of the cube with water.

Step 3: Freeze

Place the Contour Cube upright in the freezer. For best results, leave it to freeze overnight, or for a minimum of 4 hours.

Step 4: Ice Your Face

Once frozen, remove the Contour Cube from the freezer and run it under warm water for a few seconds to loosen the lid if needed.

Pro tip: Place your thumb into the groove at the back of the cube and gently rotate it 360° to loosen the lid, then lift it off.

If this is your first time trying this recipe, we recommend completing a patch test before applying aloe vera to the face. Discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

Glide the Contour Cube over clean skin using gentle upward movements, keeping the ice recipe moving in soft circular motions. Focus on areas affected by breakouts, redness, or swelling, such as the cheeks, jawline, and forehead. Avoid holding the cube in one spot.

Use light pressure and listen to your skin. Aim for 30–60 seconds per facial.
